REFSIX used at the National College Cup Finals

Over the last few weeks we've tested REFSIX at the ECFA's National College Cup Finals.  They took place at Birmingham City FC's ground, St Andrew's, and Doncaster Rovers Keepmoat Stadium.

The games at St Andrew's saw the English College Cup Finals for both men and women.  The men's game saw York College come back from 2-0 in the last ten minutes to 2-2, only to be thwarted in the last minute by a cracking strike form the MK number 9.  The ladies saw Worthing College come out 4-2 winners against Accrington & Rossendale College in a pulsating end-to-end game with some goal of the season contenders from both sides.

In the mens playoff final, effectively the Champions League final for English Colleges, Gateshead College took on Milton Keynes College with MK running out 2-0 winners.  An amazing achievement as they one the College Cup Final the week before.

The ladies match saw Gateshead College vs South Gloucestershire and Stroud College.  An end to end game, with both defences on top looked destined for Extra Time until a 90th minute shot from the Gateshead striker beat the diving goalkeepers finger tips and sparked jubilant scenes at the Keepmoat.  Well done to Gateshead College who got both of their mens and ladies teams to the ECFA Playoff Finals!

Overall REFSIX worked perfectly, passing all the tests we had set out at the start of the games.  We even got some great feedback on new features that the referees would like to see going forward!  We hope to evolve the product as weeks go on and feedback from referees only helps us make the product better for you.  We can push updates as often as we like so keep providing us with things you'd like to see in the future!
